Red Gnat 2
Mark Fitzgerald

RedGnat 2 is flown by Mark Fitzgerald. Mark, aged 34, completed his initial RAF Pilot Training during the late 90’s. Since then, he has continued to fly in numerous military fixed wing and rotary aircraft, including the Jet Provost, Hunter and Bell UH1-H "Huey" - which he has also displayed on the European Airshow circuit during the last 5 years. Furthermore, Mark is also a Flight Instructor, but has spent most of his career working in technology.
Mark started flying the Folland Gnat in 2005 and was one of the founding members of the Gnat Display Team in 2007 - the only Gnat formation display team in the World. He lives in London and splits his free time between airshows during the summer months and snowboarding during the winter.
Mark's aim with the Gnat Display Team is to preserve these fantastic vintage jets in flying condition for generations to come, and protect this iconic piece of British aviation heritage.

Worst Aviation Moment:

Best Aviation Moment:

Other interesting facts:
Mark’s ambition for the team is to one day restore a Folland Gnat F.1 fighter jet, and have it lead a 4-ship Formation Gnat Display.
