GNAT Diplay Team
Gnat Display Team “Pairs Routine” - 2010  

1. PAIR run in from crowd left in echelon right for belly up pass, smoke ON.

2. At crowd centre, PAIR roll LEFT into a 360 degree turn, returning to crowd centre

3. PAIR out on the 45 degree line for a RIGHT gentle wingover back towards the crowd

4. Run in from crowd right, in CLOSE LINE ASTERN

5. Rejoin in a LEFT turn, run in as a PAIR from crowd left in echelon right for canopy up pass

6. Reverse left to return along the “B” axis, straight towards the crowd for an opposition break

7. Individual turnaround at corners for opposition pass at crowd centre

Jets now split for individual manoeuvres

1. Gnat 1 RIGHT into a max rate turn to return to crowd centre

2. Gnat 2 departs to return on the “B” axis, towards the crowd for a ½ Cuban / Reversal

3. Gnat 1 from crowd LEFT – slow roll down the “A” axis

4. Gnat 2 from crowd LEFT - inverted pass

5. Gnat 1 from crowd RIGHT – loop and exit crowd LEFT (or a 4 point roll if no airspace)

6. Gnat 2 from crowd RIGHT - twinkle rolls down the “A” axis

Departure 1 – Flat show or constrained airspace:

7. Gnats 1 and 2 from LEFT to RIGHT high speed knife edge pass through crowd centre

8. Once past the display area – 6 “g” pull behind crowd to depart.

Departure 2 – Normal Show with adequate airspace

9. Gnat 1 departs to return along the “B” axis, straight towards the crowd - Canadian break

10. Gnat 2 from crowd LEFT joins Gnat 1 and both depart in stream to crowd RIGHT

11. Gnats 1&2 return along the “B” axis, towards the crowd for FINAL HEART departure

GNAT Display Team
 

The Red Gnat Display Team is part of The Heritage Aircraft Trust (a UK registered Charity), dedicated to the restoration and conservation of classic historic aircraft. It has its home base at North Weald Airfield near London in the UK.

The team currently consists of three Folland Gnat T. Mk1 aircraft expertly maintained and displayed at airshows for the benefit of the
public to see.
